Snowgoose Meetings
Snowgoose meets throughout the year, mostly fortnightly, on Monday nights
in the Ring O’ Bells pub, Shipley. Group members learn together and share
their writing. Sessions are run by Yorkshire playwright Jonathan Hall.
Snowgoose Writing Weekends
These intensive weekends provide participants with the opportunity to
develop aspects of their writing skills as well as the challenge to write
short scripts. Led by Jonathan Hall they are supported by professional
actors, directors and other writers.
Page To Stage
Page to Stage is an initiative suited to the early stage of a play’s
development. The writer’s short script is produced by a director and
actors, script in hand, and performed in front of the writer and their
peers. The writer sees their script in performance and, through supportive
critical feedback is encouraged to develop their work as necessary and
appropriate. Page to Stage is co-ordinated by Jonathan Hall and is run at
The Bradford Playhouse in the months of January, March, May, September and
November.
Plays For Today
Selected short plays (max 30 mins) that have been through Page To Stage
will then be produced to a professional performance standard for Plays For
Today. Produced by Encore Theatre each April and October, Plays for Today
runs for two nights in front of a paying audience at The Carriageworks,
Leeds.
Full Length Plays
Encore Theatre and Snowgoose intend to produce full length plays three
times a year in January, May and September – starting January 2012.
January productions will be the winner of the
Annual Ronald Duncan Playwriting Competition,
Jo’s War by Lucy Bell.
